A woman was taken into custody by local police yesterday afternoon on suspicion of retail theft (or other offense, e.g., assault, drug possession) following an incident at a shopping center on Main Street.

Police were dispatched to the location around 3:00 PM after receiving a call from store security regarding a person attempting to leave the premises without paying for merchandise. Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect, Ms. Jane Doe (40), attempting to flee the area.
